How my former career inspired my new series
Dear readers,
I wasn’t always an author.
Before I began to spend my days typing away stories in my brain, I had another career as a professional harpist. I began playing the harp at the age of 8, and by the time I was 16, I was performing for weddings and other special events, building up a thriving small business. In the course of the next twelve years, I had played at over 300 weddings in the Greater Austin area and surrounding Texas towns.
They say “write what you know”. Besides knowing a good deal about Jane Austen, my experience has given me an insiders look at the wedding industry, not to mention countless humorous anecdotes based on my own adventures.
That’s why my new series, “Wedding Planners in Love”, will be set in Austin, Texas. Clean, contemporary rom-coms where the wedding planners of Storybook Weddings agency each find love through the weddings they plan.
I’m currently outlining the prequel to the series, “Vows With the Vineyard Owner”, Lila and Ethan’s story, which features the boy next door trope and a childhood promise between them. It should be available this spring, with the next four books coming out this fall.
Stay tuned for more details soon!
Until then, here are some more books you might enjoy.
Happy reading,
Amanda Kai
